DT - exploring frame structures and designing our own Maya-themed pavillions.

In year 4, we explored frame structures using cocktail sticks and sweets, looking at which shapes produced stable structures and what can be done to reinforce areas of weakness.  Children then designed a pavillion that could be used as a tourist information point at the ancient Maya city of Chichen Itza.
